Marlene Badolato is now an official citizen of Conway Country. The longtime North Shore Realtor recently joined the staff of the newly opened Jack Conway Real Estate Office at 646 Humphrey Street in Swampscott.

The Conway Company began with a single office in Hingham, MA in 1956 and now has 43 sales centers, 680 agents, a commercial and relocation division, a senior specialist program serving homeowners aged 55+ and its own lending arm, Conway Home Mortgage, an affiliate of the giant Wells Fargo Bank. Its Swampscott office marks the firm’s first venture to bring its real estate services to buyers and sellers north of Boston.

“It’s so exciting to start out with a company that is new to our area,” said Badolato, who has worked in realty firms in Swampscott and Salem for the last 18 years. “I hope to watch Conway Country grow and become a household name here on the North Shore. You can’t argue with success, and why wouldn’t a firm that has been a huge success on the South Shore not do just as well here?”

Conway-Swampscott Manager Tim Knowlton welcomed Badolato aboard his new team with enthusiasm. “Marlene has practiced real estate in this town for 18 years, and she knows our territory like her own backyard,” said Knowlton. “She is going to be a huge asset to our office and to the Conway Company.”

A lifelong North Shore resident and longtime Marblehead resident, Badolato got her real estate license in 1984 when her three children were young. She entered the business eight years later and helped buyers and sellers find the homes of their dreams for almost two decades. She holds the professional credentials of ABR (accredited buyer representative), CRS (certified residential specialist) and GRI (graduate of the Realtor Institute).

Badolato enjoys marketing the attributes of the towns she services. “What is there not to like about Swampscott, Marblehead, Nahant, or Salem?” she said. “There are great beaches and convenience to commuter rail. Swampscott and Marblehead have beautiful new high schools. These towns have true community spirit. Each is a great place to live.”

Working in the real estate field for 18 years has been a “labor of love” for Badolato. “There is nothing more exciting to me than finding a home for first-time buyers and watching the excitement in their eyes at closing,” she said. “I just couldn’t get that kind of satisfaction in any other job.”

Badolato and her husband Bob, a telecommunications supervisor, will celebrate 40 years of marriage with an anniversary trip to Australia. They have a daughter Beth and twin sons, Brett and Todd.
