Conway-Cohasset agent Janet Cornacchio and her father John enjoyed a champagne celebration to honor her for work with the Scituate Art Association. The Cornacchios are both artists.

A large crowd filled the Jack Conway Realtor Cohasset office last month to toast agent Janet Conracchio’s installation as the president of the Scituate Arts Association.

The champagne art reception featured Cornacchio’s artwork on display around the room and a toast from company Chairman Jack Conway.

“The Scituate Arts Association is doing wonderful things, and tonight is a celebration of that,” said Chairman Jack Conway, a Scituate resident, during his toast. “We need to all make a commitment tonight to visit the Front Street gallery and continue to support the arts in our community.”

A highly successful agent at Conway since 2003, Cornacchio has been a member of the Scituate Arts Association since 1999, and is a longtime resident of Scituate. More than 50 agents, friends and members of the SAA enjoyed the evening viewing Cornacchio’s work and talking about art.

Her choice as president of the association came after years of working on projects like the house tour, an open studio tour and the Front Street Gallery. Cornacchio, who grew up in Westwood and graduated Westwood High, was drawn to art at an early age as the child of professional artists.

Her father John, now a Duxbury resident, was on hand to join in the toast.

“Janet’s art is an excellent example of doing something you love and getting involved,” said company Chairman Jack Conway. “Her talent and her love for the South Shore make her stand out in the community, and as an agent.”

The Quincy Trust building as it stood in the 1930s. Conway Commercial recently brokered the sale of the property, which will be the site of the restaurant Alba’s by the spring.

Conway Commercial, a division of Jack Conway & Company recently brokered the sale of the former Quincy Trust building to CJMPK, LLC and Leo Keka, who will move his restaurant Alba’s, across the street to the new site in the spring.

The 10,000 square foot building, located at 1486 Hancock St., sold for $1.4 million. Keka is in the process of totally renovating the building including the roof-top deck.

Paul Durgin, vice president of Conway Commercial, represented the owner of the building, the Chin family, and procured the buyer. Assisting in the transaction was Joseph Chan of Conway-Quincy.

“It’s a Quincy landmark,” said Durgin. “It’s exciting to see what the new owner is doing, and the finished product should be a great asset to the community.”

Built in 1918 for $40,000, this classic granite building was originally constructed and occupied by the Quincy Trust Company. The bank left the property in the 1980s, and over the years, it has been home to various retail and restaurant operations.

Durgin, a commercial real estate broker with Conway, has 22 years of experience in brokering commercial and investment property sales.
