The Jack Conway Relocation Department is growing again! Kristen Morse, a top Conway agent and recent manager of the company’s Norwell office, has been appointed Outgoing Relocation and Network Manager.

“Kristen will be responsible for taking referrals from Conway agents who have buyers or sellers who want to relocate anywhere in the world,” said Conway CEO Carol Bulman. “She will work with these clients to find them a Realtor through our giant international relocation network, and follow-up with them throughout their transactions. I know Kristen’s excellent work ethic, and she will be a great asset to our Relo division.”

Conway Director of Relocation DKristen Morse from Jack Conway Realtorsawn Stevens was happy to welcome Morse to her headquarters team. “During her first year with our company, Kristen earned the nickname ‘The Relo Queen of Conway Country’ for referring so many members of her family across the nation,” said Stevens. “And almost every year, she has won our annual company award for the agent with the most outgoing referrals. She knows how our system works, and she has hit the ground running.”

A Norwell resident, Morse relocated to Massachusetts from her native Syracuse, N.Y. in 1973. “When we moved to the Boston area, we needed a Realtor who could offer us the full picture,” she said. “I wanted to find someone who could talk to me about the flavor of different communities, about the schools and the amenities of various towns. But I ended up doing a lot of the research myself. I’ll never let that happen to any of my clients. My goal is to help people make smooth, trouble free, relocations and I will remain in contact with them from start to finish to make sure they’re satisfied.”

Morse is a member of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce and the former president of ReVerse Greetings Company, Inc. She helped launch the Nickerson Theater in Norwell (now the Company Theatre) and joined the Conway-Norwell sales team in 1998 where she served as an agent and later as manager. She holds an associate’s degree from Massasoit College and attended Syracuse University and the New York School of Interior Design. She has two grown sons, Sean and Justin, and a 4-month-old grandson, Onyx.

Seven Jack Conway-Hanover agents were among a group of South Shore Realtors who toured the historic halls of America’s first Registry of Deeds last week. The 2-hour tour of the Plymouth County Registry was led by Register John R. Buckley, Jr., Esq., who explained how mortgages and deeds have been recorded since colonial times and gave his visitors an inside look at the facility.

“The visit was extremely interesting even though I had been in the Registry many times before,” said Dick Stevens, manager of Conway-Hanover. “This building is the guardian of all land records in Plymouth County from the Pilgrims era until today. That’s something to see.”

Conway agent, Marie Krabisch, was impressed with the historic feel of the 50 Obery St. facility, which became the new Plymouth headquarters of the Registry in 2005. “We saw displays of the actual documents in which the Indians sold parcels of land to the Colonists,” said Krabisch. “It was amazing to look at these weathered pieces of parchment, often signed with an X, and then learn about the incredible new technology that safeguards our records today.”

While leading Stevens and his team through the offices of the Registry, Buckley admitted to the group that company Chairman Jack Conway, had actually given him the idea to hold public tours of the new facility.

“Our Best Places to Work event recognizes the importance of cultivating a great workplace culture as a competitive advantage,” said Chris McIntosh, publisher of the Boston Business Journal. “Companies on our list can be justifiably proud of creating a high level of workplace satisfaction during an economy where traditional rewards like big raises and bonuses aren’t as easy to give.”

Hanover — Fifty-three Jack Conway Realtors recently gathered around a gleaming center island in the kitchen of a newly built luxury home at Nash Landing in Hanover. The agents were treated to wine and cheese and an hour-long “Dialogue” session led by the subdivision’s builders, John Tedeschi and his partner Bob Wigmore.

The contractors spoke about their 9-lot neighborhood set on a wooded cul-de-sac near shopping, schools and highways. Six homes at Nash Landing have already been sold, and Conway-Scituate agent Lois Wigmore, is the listing broker for the remaining three lots. Prices range from $250,000-$270,000 for land only and from $660,000 to $700,000 for builder’s packages of 2,400-plus sq. ft. Colonial style homes.

Speaking to the standing room only crowd of Conway agents, which included Chairman Jack Conway and his daughter, CEO Carol Bulman, Tedeschi spoke about his firm and his project. “You know us and you know our work,” said the builder, whose 25-year-old construction company has built more than 100 luxury homes throughout the South Shore. “I am a hands-on builder. I work with all of my subcontractors on the job every day, and I am always available to help plan a house. Just bring your customers over and we’ll work together.”

“The Dialogue was great,” said Conway, whose company has marketed commercial and residential developments in Massachusetts for 54 years. “John Tedeschi learned the building business from his Dad, a fine craftsman known for honesty and dependability, and we are thrilled to represent his newest neighborhood.”

Lois Wigmore and Tedeschi were “amazed” at the turnout of Conway agents to their event. “Realtors came from Conway offices in Scituate, Weymouth, West Roxbury, Hanover, Norwell, Brockton, Mansfield, Marshfield, Pembroke, Hull, and Hanson,” said Wigmore. “It was a great opportunity for them to visit the neighborhood and see the workmanship of the builders.”

The homes at Nash Landing include such features as open floor plans, expansive master bedrooms and kitchens, three full baths, media rooms, libraries, large unfinished basements and 2-car attached garages. For further information on lots and builders’ packages, contact Lois Wigmore at 781-545-4100 or email lwigmore@jackconway.com.

The Jack Conway Company sang a rousing rendition of “Happy Birthday” for Ebby Halliday, the Grande Dame of Dallas real estate, at its recent convention.

In honor of Ebby’s 100th birthday, Chairman Jack Conway led the 400 in attendance at Conway’s 24th annual convention, in song and a ceremonial blowing out of the candles for his longtime business associate.

“We respect Ebby so much for what she has done in the Realtor community and as a member of Leading Real Estate Companies of the World,” said Conway. “And her spirit of volunteerism and giving back is a model for us all. We want to honor this special milestone in her brilliant life.”

“Ebby Halliday is an incredibly enthusiastic, vibrant woman,” said Corporate Services President Maureen McCaffrey. “She continues to lead the company which she started 65 years ago, and like our own Chairman, Jack Conway, she enjoys the challenge of every single day with great gusto and delight.”

The impromptu birthday party was part of a day-long event that began with opening ceremonies and a rousing chorus of “We are the Champions” with Chairman Jack Conway announcing the release of his new book, Sales Sense, which he wrote based on his 56 years of experience in the real estate field.

Conway CEO Carol Bulman thanked her 753 sales agents for performing at their highest level during a challenging year and urged them to set their sights on a 25-percent increase in business in 2011.

Jack Conway, Realtor, which began its business in a Hingham storefront in 1956, is now one of the largest independent real estate companies in Massachusetts. The firm has 42 sales offices, 700 agents and its own lending arm, New England Mortgage Partners, a joint venture with Wells Fargo.

Weymouth — Conway Commercial, a division of Jack Conway, Realtor, recently sold out Rockway Woods, a 19-unit luxury condominium development in Weymouth. Realtor Phil Devasto was the listing agent for all three phases of the project and marketed the new construction from groundbreaking until the last sale this month to a buyer from Milton.

The units in the 3-story townhouse-style buildings have two bedrooms, 2.5 baths, central air and 1-car garages, and were priced from $375,000 during phase I to $335,000 in phase III. Builder Bob Falconi credits DeVasto for selling out his project during a challenging economy. “Marketing luxury condos in the last few years was not easy,” said Falconi. “We had to make some price adjustments along the way, but Phil was incredibly diligent from the time he worked out of a construction trailer at our site until he brought in our last buyer. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome.”

The people who purchased homes at Rockway Woods ranged from first-timer buyers to empty nesters, according to DeVasto. “Phase III was a quick sell because we sold three homes in a row last year while the federal tax credit was in effect,” said Devasto. “When that ended, the pace slowed a bit, but we got the job done. Bob is a wonderful builder and it was a pleasure working with him.”

DeVasto is the former owner of Wilbur’s Ice Cream Shop in Scituate and the Cookery, a corporate catering firm in Norwell. He joined the Conway Commercial Group in 2006 and recently transferred to the company’s Relocation Division where he handles the sale of bank-owned properties for Freddie Mac.

Westwood – The Jack Conway, Realtor’s Westwood office recently ran a collection for the “Toys for Tots” program run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.
Through the program, the Marines collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
“This was such a worthy cause and we hope we were able to help in some way,” said Conway-Westwood manager Jay Goguen. “We all know the need is greater this year, and the community and our customers have been very generous with their support.”

Norwell — Once again, Jack Conway Realtor has been selected as the Massachusetts marketing agent for a nationwide industry leader. The giant MI Group, a global provider of relocation services to corporations around the world, recently appointed Conway to handle all of its domestic relocations to the Bay State area.

“We are thrilled to enter into this partnership with MI,” said Carol Bulman, chief executive officer of Jack Conway & Co. “Maureen McCaffrey, our president of Corporate Services, was instrumental in procuring this new business for us, and I am very grateful to her.”

Since 2009, McCaffrey had been networking with her peers at the MI Group to create a relationship between the two firms. “MI managers recently made the official announcement of their company’s partnership with Conway,” said McCaffrey. “From now on, we will service all corporate transferees coming into Massachusetts from MI’s offices in New York, Houston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Calgary and Toronto.”

McCaffrey said the alignment between the 54-year-old privately owned real estate firm and the 31-year-old MI Group, is a “natural” one. “Our values and standards for customer service are very much the same,” said McCaffrey. “MI’s corporate slogan is ‘Our focus is global.
