If you’re wondering what to do on a not-so-hot summer night, how about taking in a New England Revolution soccer game at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro? Parking is free and if you have kids, they’ll love the pre-game activities at “Soccer Celebration,” which opens at Gillette two hours before every match.
If you’re not a season ticket holder and don’t have a parking pass, tailgating is only allowed in two of the lots, but feel free to eat, drink and be merry in those designated areas before you rev up for a night of major league soccer thrills.
You can choose from six seating areas to watch the games, depending on how much you want to pay for your ticket, including “the Fort,” a designated standing room only area that offers great views of all the action. That’s the place where you’ll find the Revs’ supporter groups – the Midnight Riders, Revs Army and The Rebellion, who’ll be leading the chants and songs during the games.
Aisles and seats are much wider than at Fenway Park, and bathrooms and concession stands are everywhere, but prices for beer and other drinks are a bit hefty. You might want to eat at one of the restaurants or cafes at the adjacent Patriot Place mall before the game to save some money.
If you live in Norton, North Attleboro, Mansfield or any of the other surrounding communities, here’s a schedule of the upcoming New England Revolution home games this summer.
