I just could not get over our recent spread in Distinctive Homes Magazine.  Not only were our Conway Classic Homes prominently and professionally positioned in this handsome piece, but we receive the opportunity to share the Online Magazine to our customers as well.

I feel so proud of the group of agents who work with us at Conway Country.  We have agents who specialize and focus on being the best the can be in areas such as short sales, first time home buyers, and in this example, the specialty of Classic Home marketing. These homes are offered staging by agents who specialize in this skill, free websites, unique marketing opportunities and other add-ons to make the high-end seller feel confident when they hire a Conway Classic sales agent.

This is a great ad – take a look!

At the Jack Conway Company monthly meeting of the Superstars groups, Kim Castiglioni of Wells Fargo shared some uplifting words about the opportunity in a market that offers rates as low as they were in 1971.

She also talked about what the real estate market in our area of Boston is experiencing, so much better than many areas of the country, in particular the “sand states” of Florida, California and Arizona. I guess it’s all about looking at the glass half full.

Kim and I also had a great day touring part of Conway Country; we traveled from the Superstar Class at the Holiday Inn Rockland, down Main Street, Hingham and through the Hingham Harbor area with spectacular views of the water, and quaint restaurants and stores; next stop down Nantasket Avenue in Hull, passing yet another Conway Office, all the way to the tip of Hull where we had a clear view of the Boston skyline.

We then traveled along the beach into Cohasset and along the famous Jerusalem Road and into Cohasset Harbor.  I tried to interest Kim in the $55M home/Kimballs/Atlantica property for sale but she wasn’t biting! We then passed over the bridge in Cohasset Harbor, along Border Street and into Scituate. We toured through the Minot area of Scituate with it’s lovely, and stately homes overlooking Minot light, then along Hatherly road to Scituate Harbor – we passed by Bulman Marine of course then by yet another Jack Conway Office in the newly renovated Conway-owned block of stores on Front Street in Scituate.

Kim needed to hop on a conference call and as I knew cell coverage was non-existent in Scituate Harbor, we headed up to our Cohasset office for Kim to get on her call.  I had a lovely visit with Linda O’Brien, a sister in law of a former classmate of mine from Cohasset High School, Jim O’Brien – small world!

Kim and  ended our tour visiting with 15 members of our Hingham office at their newly renovated and beautiful sales offices on Main Street.  We listened to many ideas that the folks of the Hingham office shared; everything from marketing to community involvement to the possibility of inviting the Wells stagecoach and six horses to the Hingham July 4th parade!  Wow, what great fun that would be!!

I had a cup of coffee with Lois Baho, a successful agent of many years from our Conway-Westwood Office.  Lois is the picture of professionalism and I was pleased to have an opportunity to catch up with her after so many years.  Lois is an active member of her Garden Club in her hometown of West Roxbury and is a source of knowledge and trusted opinion in the area of West Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, Westwood and Norwood.

Lois and I spoke about the fact that we have so much to offer our customers here at Conway Country and how lucky we are to work with so many great people.  We also talked about the opportunity we have to grow our good company as there are many people who may be interested in working with a family company with so many resources.

We had a lovely time at lunch at Panera Bread at the Derby Street Shoppes in Hingham.  I love having the chance to chat with folks like Lois who work so hard and do such a great job for their customers.

Al Becker, Director of Marketing for Jack Conway Co., and I recently made a trip to the northernmost point of Conway Country – our new and exciting Swampscott sales office.

Lead by Tim Knowlton, the sales crew in Swampscott is experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic beyond measure about joining our fine company and about the opportunity to service their areas with the Conway brand by their side.  We were fortunate to have a meeting with Colleen Sullivan, the residential real estate reporter for the Banker and Tradesman, and we hoped to update her on the goings on of our growing company.

I had an opportunity to meet Colleen at the recent Best in 2010 event and cocktail reception honoring those companies who had received this fine honor from B&T.  We were honored to receive the Gold Award the Conway Country Real Estate School, and a silver for our company as a whole out of ALL real estate companies in the state.

Colleen sat in as Al presented to the Swampscott crew the offerings of our new Web site; including the property tours, community pages, Virtual office just for the agents and our new listing presentation for our customers.  We talked a lot about ways to communicate via Facebook, direct mail and other medium to keep our customers feeling informed and updated about their real estate goals.

The meeting concluded with 10 minutes or so with Colleen to talk about the real estate market as a whole, in which Conway Country is doing just great.

Tim later treated Al and me to an amazing lunch at The Dolphin at Marblehead Harbor.  This is a beautiful area and there are lots of opportunities for the folks of Conway Country to assist the fine residents of this picturesque part of the world.  Tim and his agents serve Swampscott, Nahant, Marblehead, Salem and Lynn from their convenient location at 646 Humphrey Street in Swampscott.  The number is 781-584-4757 if you’d like to give us a call!

Thursday was a packed filled day in Conway Country.

First stop, Scituate Office, where we honored the agents of this great office for their many hours of community service throughout their careers.

Giving back to the community has been one of the foundations that my father has set early on in the infancy of this company and both our managers, in this case Elaine Bongarzone, and sales agents have followed his lead.  It was humbling moment for me to list off the many Town programs that our agents have dedicated their time to and I want to thank them all from the bottom of my heart what they do each day.

Selling real estate and balancing community involvement and family is a daunting task and they do this with ease.  We were so pleased that the Selectmen Chairman for Scituate, John Danehey, was on hand to speak to our group and he, together with Town Administrator Patricia Vinchesi presented my father and the Scituate Conway Team with a sitation for their tireless efforts.

It was a truly wonderful event and humbling all at the same time.  To reach out to any of our fine agents in Scituate please contact them at 781-545-4100.

Next stop was a well attended Broker Open House for Jack Livingstone’s local builder’s Whitcomb Pines Condo estates in Scituate.  These lovely side by side units all back up to acres of town woods and offer the simplicity of condo living while providing a backdrop of peace and serenity surrounded by the tall white pines of West Scituate.

A Scituate native myself, I know that the offerings of this community are vast; miles and miles of town beaches with parking, two beautifully manicured golf courses, a vibrant and active youth and recreation center for children, a busy and exciting senior program for seniors, not to mention gourmet and family restaurants, picturesque Scituate Harbor with many shops, miles and miles of walking trails and close proximity to both Cape Cod and Boston.  I’m a little biased I guess, but to me there is no better place to live.

If you have not seen these roomy and appealing units please contact our Cohasset office at 781-383-1800 today.  You won’t be disappointed!

Chairman Jack Conway honors speaker Peter Forman at the Conway Mid-Year Awards breakfast at the Plymouth Radisson.

Plymouth – The message to Jack Conway Realtors agents and managers at their recent Mid-Year Awards breakfast was loud and clear – the South Shore and Conway Country is going to be one of the hottest areas of growth over the next decade.

That prediction was delivered by Peter Forman, president of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce, to a roomful of more than 250 members of the Conway Company at the Plymouth Radisson. They heard Forman, a former state politician, sheriff and aide to the governor, describe their role in helping the region reach its potential.

“Conway Country has defined the South Shore and its economy for the last 20 to 30 years,” said Forman. “But that economy is now changing. And the outlook is very promising. When you sell that house, you need to sell the South Shore as a growing region.”

Forman was the main speaker at the annual Mid-Year Awards breakfast at which all 40 Conway offices top listers and sellers for the first six months were recognized. In addition, Conway-Mattapoisett agent Beth Van der Veer (sales) and Conway-South Boston agent Mike Foley (listings) were recognized as being the tops companywide.

“Our agents are the engine that drives this company, and we know how important they are,” said President Dick Cahill as he handed out the awards.

Chairman Jack Conway also delivered a special Conway Excellence Award to Massasoit Community College Professor Lois Martin, a recent winner of the Math Educator of the Year Award. Conway lauded Martin for her dedication to teaching a subject which is often difficult, but critical in this economy.

“I am so proud of our whole department, we are all about teaching at Massasoit,” said Martin, a longtime Kingston resident. “I just want to convey my love for the beauty of math to my students, and watch them succeed.”

The event was opened with Conway-Scituate agent Ed Covell leading the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. Covell is the newly-installed commander of the Scituate American Legion Post 144.
