Matt Ferrara presenting to Conway Agent

Matt Ferrara Visits Norwell Office

The Jack Conway training center in Norwell was jam-packed last week as the management team spent the day with highly-acclaimed real estate trainer Matt Ferrara.

Ferrara worked with managers on strategies for building market share through selecting new agents and developing the current sales force.

“An organization like this is doing it correctly,” said Ferrara as he spoke with the 40-plus managers on the leadership team. “But looking at these important issues from a different angle brings the kind of diversity and strength that you need to build on the success Conway has had for so many years.”

Ferrara  has worked all over the world  training real estate agents, teachers, technology entrepreneurs and global sales organizations. Like he did at Conway, Ferrara prepares his clients for the challenges of the next generation of consumers, markets and technologies.

“We’ve been focused so much on growth internally and externally, and we felt this was something worthwhile to help our management team,” said Conway CEO Carol Bulman. “Matt really helped us focus on our future efforts, and it was a refreshing experience.”

CONWAY AGENTS RALLY AROUND NEW TOOLS

REALTOR.COM PARTNERSHIP WITH JACK CONWAY & CO.A partnership with Realtor.com and an on-line continuing education campus were among the new perks and benefits for Jack Conway Realtors announced at the recent Conway Country “WOW” Rally held at Lombardos in Randolph.

More than 300 agents attended the event and learned about the news tools and opportunities to become better at servicing customers. CEO Carol Bulman explained the exciting changes to the agents, and said, “We heard what you asked for and we responded. You, our agents in the field, are the reason for our company’s success and it’s our goal to help you to succeed. You are our front line in Conway Country and we thank you for what you do.”

On the agenda at the rally was the announcement by Conway’s Director of Marketing Al Becker, of an agreement with Realtor.com, the largest real estate database in the world. The plan calls for all Conway listings to be advertised as “enhanced listings,” which include up to 25 photos and 500 words of text, on the site.

“This is fabulous news to me,” said agent Joanne Mecke who has purchased the enhanced listings from Realtor.com for years at significant personal expense. “The new company-subsidized plan represents a huge savings to me. I’m very excited about it.”

It’s Been 1 Year Since the Launch of the NEW Jackconway.com!

Agents, managers and staff at Jack Conway, Realtor gathered recently for a rousing celebration of the first anniversary of the company’s Next Generation website jackconway.com. Everyone shared in a piece of birthday cake, decorated with an image of the front page of the website.

Since June 1, 2010, when Conway redesigned and retooled the website, traffic and customer engagement has risen dramatically.

“I think we can all say this has been an unqualified success,” said Conway Marketing Director Al Becker. “And the best part of this website is it can keep getting better and improve as new trends and technologies emerge.”

One recent example of these improvements is the “mapped search” tool that allows buying customers to pinpoint areas where they are looking for homes. Another new development is the mobile optimization of the site, providing service to jackconway.com on the vast majority of mobile devices and tablet PCs.

All of this is taking place because of the hard work of the Conway staff, through its web team at Boston Logic Technology Partners.

We are so pleased with Boston Logic and all they’ve done for us,” said Conway CEO Carol Bulman. “They are an excellent partner and along with our team, we are poised for a bright future.”

Long known as a forward-thinking real estate company, Conway supports its agents with the best tools of the trade, including jackconway.com, but also strategic digital marketing plans, a virtual back office, state-of-the-art CMA tools and web-to-print solutions.  If you want to join the Conway Team, click here to learn more about what we offer our agents.

A group of young Jack Conway Realtors from  Quincy to New Bedford  gathered for an informal networking session recently at Conway Headquarters in Norwell. Sales agents, managers and staff in their 20s, 30s and 40s came together as part of the company’s new “after hours” Conway Young Professional Network.

“The idea is modeled on an effort going on at the state and national level to support young people in the real estate profession,” said Conway Director of Education and Agent Services Christopher Haraden, 40. “The networking sessions are open to everyone, regardless of age, but we are hoping to provide younger Realtors with some specific tips on how to succeed in our business and how to serve the people in their age groups who are buying and selling houses.”

Young Professionals Networking OpportunitiesThe Young Professional Network allowed agents to share ideas and make suggestions to Conway management on support systems they might need. “The ideas brought up at the meeting centered mostly on the newer Realtors’ desire for in-office mentors,” said Helen Shiner, 44, manager of Conway’s Quincy Office. “They were asking to work with more experienced colleagues who would coach them until they felt comfortable going it alone. A mentor would accompany the new agents on listing appointments, show them how to access and fill out forms, and enable them to see the real estate business in practice instead of just in theory.”

Al Becker, 40, Conway’s Director of Marketing, hosted the session along with Haraden, and discussed the many prospecting methods available to new agents to generate buyer and seller leads. “We had an agenda but the session was primarily social,” said Becker. “We networked and just listened to people sharing ideas about issues affecting younger Realtors. Attendees were able to connect with one another in a peer support group and receive the guidance of older, more experienced agents within our company.”

Darrin Wahlberg, 38, a new Realtor at Conway-Scituate, attended the first Young Professional Network meeting and plans to go again. “It was a good chance to meet with people my age and younger who represented the broad spectrum of Conway offices,” said Wahlberg. “We talked about mentoring, marketing, social media and many other topics. I’m looking forward to the next session.”

Conway CEO Carol Bulman was appointed chief executive officer of the 42-office family-owned firm when her father Jack Conway turned 86 in 2009. “My Dad has always had confidence in the talents and abilities of young people,” said Bulman.

“He started this company when he was only 32 years old, and working mothers made up a large portion of his early sales force. It’s exciting to see how many people are entering the real estate profession today as their first career and our Young Professional Network will help them to succeed.”

Boston – The Jack Conway & Company was recently honored with two very special awards in the third annual Banker & Tradesman readers’ poll.

Conway’s Real Estate School won the top spot of Gold for “Best Educational Provider in the Residential Real Estate Category” and the real estate company earned a Silver for “Best Residential Real Estate Firm.”

The poll provided B&T readers an opportunity to speak up for those providers they believe are the best through an online survey. Conway was one of those choices for The Best – the companies that won the loyalty and support of the Bay State’s financial and real estate community.

“We are truly honored to be recognized by our customers and friends with these awards,” said Conway CEO Carol Bulman. “I think it’s a reflection on the relationships we forge with each customer, and the family feel of our company.”

The award for the Conway Country School of Real Estate was particularly exciting as the company continues an unprecedented year of growth in hiring. With recent expansions into Dartmouth and Quincy, and weekend classes in Norwood and Dorchester, the school is offering more opportunities for preparation to become a licensed real estate salesperson.

“Our classes are taught by our agents and managers, and that’s important,” said Bulman. “The students make that connection and get a feel for the business right away.”

For more information on classes, or on joining the sales team at Conway, call Marie Battles at 781-871-0080, ext. 342, or email mbattles@jackconway.com.
