As part of our one-stop shopping, we are partnered with The Armstrong Company to offer clients professional packing and moving services. One of the most common questions they hear is, “What size boxes should I use?”
Knowing the basics can help you prepare for a smoother, safer and stress-free moving day.
Small Boxes: Advise clients to use small boxes for heavy items. This includes books, small kitchen appliances such as blenders and toaster ovens, and pantry goods. Keeping heavy items in small boxes reduces the risk of breakage, and injuries for everyone involved in the move.
Medium Boxes: Medium boxes are the most popular boxes of any move. They’re ideal for pots, pans, small lamps, toys, and decor like framed photos or vases. Families with children are encouraged to use medium boxes for toys and stuffed animals. They're versatile and manageable for most people to lift.
Large Boxes: Larger boxes should be reserved for lighter, bulkier items like pillows, bedding, towels, and seasonal clothing. Do not pack heavy items in large boxes. It can make them unsafe to lift and prone to tearing.
Why the Right Boxes Matters: Using the correct box sizes protects not only belongings but also the movers handling them. It also prevents damage, reduces the risk of injury, and makes unpacking much easier on the other end.
At Jack Conway, we are commitment to your stress-free move, and the Armstrong Team is here to help.
